History of the Temora Show.
The Temora Show began in 1886 as a three day show. There were horses, sheep, cattle, harness horses, chooks, working dogs, birds, goats, the agricultural pavilion, side show alley and many other things.
After many years the show was cut down to a two day show. We still had all the events and animals. The show then was moved to a one day show which is what we currently have.
There were many changes over the years, many of the animal groups were dropped as the interest was no longer there and new legislations made it hard for farmers to bring stock to the show. In the early days it was reported on Trove that 300 people came from Cootamundra on the train for the Temora Show.
The current show has horses, shearing events, chooks, agricultural pavilion, tractors and side show alley. We also have fireworks.
